About American Ballroom NC
Why called American Ballroom?
There are two major
types of ballroom dancing -- International style and American style. Generally,
ballroom dance studios teach one style or the other predominantly. Here at American Ballroom NC, we teach
American Style Ballroom Dancing.
Whereas International style ballroom dancing is geared for the strictly
competitive dancer, American Style Ballroom Dancing teaches students proper
social dance skills to allow them to be comfortable and confident in any dance situation. These different
dance opportunities may include weddings, night clubs, dinner dances, and
cruises. In addition, there is plenty of opportunity for the American style
ballroom dancer to participate in both showdance exhibitions and competitions,
if that is their desire.
